As a passionate video game enthusiast, Evan Sucher combines his imagination and programming skills as he works on creating energetic and fun games.
Evan’s love of games and computers lead him to spend a summer at a computer camp in grade school where he began his interest in creating his own games. He continued creating games in high school where he and his friends formed Business Lunch Studios in Evan’s basement and created, then shipped, their first game – Redcoats v. Aliens (available on Google Play).
Evan recently graduated from Columbia College in Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Game Programming. Evan is proficient in Unity, C# and C++ and other various software and programming languages. As part of his Senior Capstone project at Columbia, Evan had the privilege of working with his talented classmates to create Aiku, a 3D puzzle adventure game. In addition to his main role as a programmer, he also regulated a bitbucket repository, participated in code reviews and approved pull requests from his team.
Being a team player is not new to Evan. Eight years ago, Evan joined a sketch comedy team that performed on stage. That core team of comedians have now formed an on-line comedy YouTube channel called Dumbest of All Worlds with over 32,000 subscribers and almost 8,000,000 total video views. When Evan is not playing or creating video games, he is writing and producing material for Dumbest of All Worlds.
This production experience, which includes creating animated content, filming and video editing, has enhanced his understanding of the impact of the visual design and pacing on the viewer’s experience. These unique insights add to Evan’s skills as a video game developer and programmer.
